Greek Islands are one of my favourite places to visit. The plan is to visit them all (which i mentioned here). Greece is just so beautiful to me; clear, blue seas, authentic rocky beaches, hill-top views and farm animals on every corner. Not even joking. This is true of many of the low-key holiday places anyway. Not too sure about the likes of Malia or Kavos.

Before i ramble on too much, all i will say is... Kos is hands-down the most stunning place i've ever been too in terms of picturesque views all around. I'm taking 360 degrees. Everywhere you look is just stunning. It isn't a well developed island in terms of big cities and shopping malls. It's much more traditional and they have really tried to maintain their historic heritage. I visited a few archaeological sites whilst there including castle ruins (western archaeological site), the roman odeon and the Hippocrates tree (the inner philosopher in me loved it!).

Just off the coast of Kardemena we also visited Nisyros - a beautiful, small island with a population of less than 1000 people (crazy, right?!) and famous for its dormant crater. Bordering Turkey you can also visit Bodrum from Kos Town - unfortunately i didn't manage to do this but, i would love to when i visit again (notice i said when). Book in advance due to Visa issues. I would also like to visit the Kefalos area of Kos. So there is no doubt in my mind i'd love to go back and explore the island much more.

Overall from what i have seen it is a beautiful island with lots to see and do. Go join in the watersports, dive in the sea or pop on a boat to a nearby island. Alternatively, cycle freely, go hiking, explore castle ruins or do a little bit of shopping. I did some cycling down the coast myself and the views were just breathtaking.

I stayed at the Akti Beach Club Hotel which was about 4km, i believe, outside of Kardemena. This was amazing in the sense that it was so quiet and relaxing. But Kardemena isn't that big anyway compared to other Greek towns. The hotel put on free buses to Kardemena. But the local buses which we used to Kos town were also just as good. There is really no excuse for not using public transport in Greece. So far i have had zero problems.

I will link here to my Kos Vlog as i managed to record some footage of Kos and Nisyros. Amazing. The nature around these areas were so beautiful. As sad as it sounds, i seen a cricket and a grasshopper (with my own eyes) for the first time during this trip. The hotel was absolutely buzzing (in a good way) with all sorts of creatures and insects - butterflies, birds, crickets, bee's.. And we just so happened to have some bulls grazing the field right next door. Not to forget the beautiful stray cats which are so well looked after and very adorable.

Overall a wonderful week away. I explored, swam a lot and also, had a much needed chill out after finishing my degree - woohoo!

A few weeks ago i went on an adventure to Malaysia. A place i had wanted to go to for a while. This was a university psychology trip which entailed a lot of work, but also a lot of play. Now i thought about how to structure these Malaysia posts as i have about about a million photos (a bit dramatic but, there is a lot!). I decided the best way to do it was to share all the food first. After all, the blog is named Psychology, FOOD and Fitness for a reason. I love food. Food was one of the main reasons i was excited to visit Malaysia. We've all seen the amazing Instagram posts, all the incredible tropical fruit.. dreamy..

Although, i never did actually realise how much they do eat over there. It is a massive part of their culture! We soon learnt that, got used it and made the most of it. I literally ate everything in sight. I only had 10 days to try everything right? So there were lots of firsts for me.

One of my favourite things was the banana leaf meal which was biryani served with some sides (including bitter melon - a first for me - and rather delicious). Another first was sushi, i have probably tried sushi before but this was my first 'real' time sitting and ordering sushi in a restaurant. I had one with raw salmon which was.. alright, don't think i am a massive sushi fan. I also tried salmon head which was actually delicious. Not pictured is the Malay national dish 'Nasi lemak' which i probably wouldnt eat for breakfast like they do but, it was a very enjoyable tea. But, on the most part, i tended to stick to lots of chicken dishes especially my faithful satay chicken which i have all the time at home (promise i'm not obsessed with peanut butter). Lastly i refused to leave without trying coconut cream in the coconut shell. Proper instagram worthy. Tasted pretty decent too.

After all my excitement about fruit. I was pretty let down. I was so excited to try dragon fruit, probably because it looks so pretty, but there wasn't really much of a taste. I'd also heard lots of good things about Durian but i was not expecting that smell! It was so strong you could smell it a mile off. Think a mix of sewer and sweaty armpits. I think the smell put me off so much i didn't really care what it tasted like. The one fruit i really did enjoy (thanks to Jane for getting this or i doubt i would have tried it) was Mangosteen. So sweet and delicious. I will be trying this again.

And here is some of the not so healthy food i got to try. Green tea kitkat - who knew these existed? Definitely not seen them in the UK. On the bottom left is a banana roti. Roti seems to be very popular in Kuala Lumpur. You can get them plain with curry, with banana (like mine) or with egg and cheese. Mine came served with a side of condensed milk. Oh the sugar rush. Lets not forget to mention the FRIED ICE-CREAM. Forgot the fried mars bar. It is all about the fried ice-cream. It was truly delicious, just like ice-cream encased in a doughnut (my two favourite things - what's not to love?). And of course to add to the sugar high i had to try a Famous Amos & Dunkin' Donuts as we certainly don't get to try them in the UK. Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme though is the question. What do you think? I think i'm team Krispy Kreme.

Overall my food experience in Malaysia was interesting to say the last. I got to try so many new and different things some of which i loved and some of which i'm happy to leave behind (Durian and Roti). The food is so affordable over there, you can get a decent meal for like £1.50. It was astonishing. How could you resist? The food was a lot different than what i was expecting, a lot more fried, carb heavy and full of sugar. But there was a lot of healthy options if you chose that and we did enough walking to burn it off. I had noticed the university we stayed at was very health focused with motivational quotes printed on the walkway.

A few days ago i visited Edinburgh for two days. This is the second time i have visited and i've decided it is a city i really love. The main purpose of the trip was to visit the university as i am contemplating doing my Msc there. However, it kind of turned into a massive shopping trip. For some reason i just wanna shop when i'm there, the Topshop, Primark and New Look (a few of my favourites) just seem so much better in Edinburgh than they do in Manchester or the Trafford Centre. I'm nto sure why. I also love the shop Tiger because i don't have one of them near me :(. I'm also partial to visiting Jamie Oliver's for some good food. And this time i treated myself to a gluten free nutella brownie and a cookie monster cupcake from Bibi's Bakery.

There is so much to see Edinburgh! Of course, it is a beautiful city. I love the mix of old and new. I could wander around for ages. It'd be so easy to just get lost and spend hours exploring. This time we headed to Holyrood Park to the infamous Arthurs Seat. We also walked from Haymarket station to see more of the city. I feel like there is an endless amount of beautiful views and lovely old buildings. It could be a bit of a fashion bloggers paradise, just think, perfect scenic backgrounds *plans photoshoot*.

As you can see my trip consisted mostly of wandering around the city, shopping (a lot!) and eating (a lot!). I still feel like i have a lot more of the city yet to see but, i'm saving that for future visits. One place i enjoyed was the Museum of Childhood on the Royal Mile. That was such a fun blast to the past for my mum and I. I would definitely recommend a quick visit. We were pretty lucky to have one sunny day whilst we were there, the second day it rained - typical. Overall, i had yet another lovely trip to Edinburgh, it is fast becoming one of my favourite places to visit. Now i just need to decide whether i want to live there for a year, but that's a different story...
